Glacier Point

For our second day of acclimatization, we decided to hike to Nevada Falls via the John Muir Trail and return via the Mist Trail. Here, I took a panorama of Glacier Point from near the beginning of the trail, the first overlook area.

Headwall

The headwall seen here marks the end of Lyell canyon.

Columbia Finger

I took this panorama from a small, un-named peak beside Columbia Finger (prominent peak on the right) looking to the southwest towards Sunrise mountain (forested ridge behind the bare ridge in the center-right). To the center-left in the distance are Mts Quartizte, Gray, Red, and Triple Divide. On the far left are Mts Foerster, Florence, and Vogelsang.

Apline Meadow

Lyell Canyon and Donohue Pass

Lyell Canyon (stretching away to the right) ends here at Donohue Pass; the pass also marks the southeastern border of the park.
