We originally planned to exit the JMT at Mammoth Lakes (about 70 miles from here), but we ended up exiting at Tuolumne Meadows and spending a few rest days exploring.

We encountered this "wild" squirrel on the JMT just above Clark Point. He wanted my trail mix and wouldn't leave us alone!

We explored LYV after setting up our campsite.

There are some big trees in the Sierra Nevada.

Chores

Before we ate dinner, we had to filter water everyday to remove bacteria, viruses, and other particulate matter. Here, we are about to filter water out of the Merced.

This was our dining area at our campsite in the LYV campground.

Our trusty tent; it has been to Torres del Paine and Yosemite now, and we've never had any problems with it.
